Family April 8, 2008

Family is a big part of my life. Even though they might not be all that sane some times, or even concur with me. They have always been there for me and always will be. In the picture above, it is a picture of my cousin and me on my parents boat. We went on a short little cruise for spring break, and well let just make this as simple as ABC.

My cousin Nicky and I go way back. Ever since I can remember, we have always been in some silly argument like who gets the remote, what we watch, what game we play, what movie to watch, and this list can go on for miles. On this trip we had so much fun even though all the parents hear is “your such a cheater. CHEATER!” “I am not the cheater, Cheater, your the cheater” never play ‘uno’ or any kind of card game with the two of us.

The truth is, even though the parents hear our argueing we are actually pretty much inseperable when we are together. We sing, dance, laugh *at each other*, talk about nonsense, take pictures, and well always look out for one another. No one else but me can mess with Nicky, we are there for each other no matter if the other one likes it at the time. Being raised in a family where family is everything the backbone to life, I can’t see not loving my cousin as much as I do.

I know some families barely communicate or never see or talk to each other. But if I didn’t have my family I don’t think I could survive. After coming back from a family friend’s brother’s funeral I realized how much family is. No, I didn’t have Nicky with me, even though I missed him and wanted somebody to bug. I think everyone should mend their ties or bond with their family no matter what. If you don’t have family, create one. That is the best family you can ever have, you can actually choose your family. Friends are also a good thing because after the years of joy and tears they become like family.

Family should be the most important thing you can ever have. Because, no matter what, they will be there with you.

Going green March 5, 2008

Filed under: Going green, holidays, no plastic — taktikphotography @ 1:53 am

2309402794_256f6cf528.jpg I know everyone is thinking the same thing by now. That Hippie is at it again, you might not be as go green friendly then other people but think about it, if you just started recycling that would help this planet so much.

This Spring I have a plan of action, and that is to start a new tradition. I want to plant a tree, or a bush, whatever it is. Something that my mom won’t kill because she won’t water it. Just a planet that just needs some water, sun, and love. It not only will look pretty, but it also will provide shade for who ever needs it and a home for a nest of birds.

Also, going green you might not be crazy about the whole sea turtle thing even though it is a big issue. Going green can simply mean something as easy as, turning off the lights and fan off when you leave the room. Not only are you helping your electric bill to decrease, you also are getting less dependant on electric. Why use lights when it is perfectly bright and sunny outside. Pull open those window blinds, open your windows don’t use your a/c as much. These little things will make a big difference even in your pocket book.

So do this planet a favor and lend a helping hand by recycling, (Did I mention some metals when taken to a recycling drop off can actually earn you a few bucks?!) shutting off those lights and air conditioning. Open your windows and window blinds.

Say NO to plastic! Say YES to a cleaner and more resourceful future!

Easter is coming! March 5, 2008

2309402116_e9d863286e.jpg  Hop on the bunny train with me and do the bunny hop for old time sake. Lets make new memories this spring and spring forward and wait for the sun to come out and the flowers to bloom.

Easter for some reason is one of my favorite holidays. Christmas is my first, Thanksgiving and then Easter. Those three holidays I go all out and go crazy when it comes to baking. You name it i will or have baked it. I always make a cake, cupcakes, cookies, and alot more other sweets. I think it is my goal when I grow up to be like a person straight out of ‘Candy Land’ always having treats. I normally don’t eat everything I bake because if I did I would be put into acoma.

Christmas I bake: Chocolate covered Pretzels, Ginger bread dudes, (I call them dudes because I live in Florida) Sugar cookies, mini pecan pies, Snow Ball cookies, and (if your lucky) Orange chocolate cupcakes with a orange flavored home-made butter-cream icing.

Thanksgiving is more just pie and cake.

Easter I bake: Chocolate eggs, Cupcakes, Easter cake, (its a fruity cake that my mom makes more then me) cookies, and last year some other Hungarian treats.

So I am sooo excited to bake and make some new and different recipes. Yummy, my friends always get some. So don’t worry if you know me personally, you will get some. I am just really excited to try some cake decorating tricks I am learning. So watch out when I come around Easter time, Richard Simmons just LOVES me during the holiday seasons! LOL! (Get it?!)

Well that’s all for now!
