Weird Wednesdays February 28, 2008

  Okay, so today was well…..interesting. I have a few topics to talk about but I just want to warn my readers (if I have any) that well basically today was very odd. So here is how my day started, since I am almost a month behind in a History Essay which I thought would be a breeze it isn’t. I just started my research today! 

So the weather was cold when I woke up and it grew colder by the hour.  So after doing extensive research on the library’s computer my time had ran up which is only an hour. If you are doing research you need more time then just one hour. 

 So I figured I should do some catch up on my Great Expectations reading. (This version is the unabridged and I am half way threw it and on the 30 chapter.) So now the time was 3:30 *School’s out* there was a sea of people at the library and even in hushed tones, the room was roaring.

 I couldn’t have helped over hear a group of guys ‘high school age’ talking about how they could go to Tokyo, China and buy 30 pairs of shoes for the great price of only five dollars.

Now I understand that the room was booming with jibber jabber, but I did hear them say Tokyo, China. Now if you don’t know the importance of Tokyo, China I’ll let you on a hint; Tokyo is not in China, it’s in Japan. So I couldn’t help but giggle at this statement, who wouldn’t?

I mean it is pretty odd when you are focused on Pip and Estella meeting again at Miss Havisham’s house for dinner, and to hear that now Tokyo is in China. So Finally I hear one of the guys in the group laugh, I figured YES someone who knows. He said “Tokyo isn’t in China, Japan is in China.” last time I checked the two countries weren’t within each other. Then the same guy who made the comment about Tokyo, China said “No, Hong Kong is in Japan and Tokyo is in China.” I gave the guy a break, they might be dyslexic, nope. They concluded that Hong Kong is in Japan and Japan is in Tokyo and Tokyo is in CHINA! So at this time I was wanting to fall on the floor laughing so hard I couldn’t listen to anymore worried I would laugh and insult them. So maybe you can buy 30 pairs of shoes for 5 dollars in Tokyo, China. But you would have to find a way to be at those two different places at the same time.

So that is how my day became full of laughter and made it very weird. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog!

Across the Universe February 26, 2008

 Is there anybody gone to listen to my story, All about the girl who came to stay? She’s the kind of girl you want so much, It makes you sorry; Still, you don’t regret a single day. Ah girl! Girl!

Recognize the lyrics? In Across the Universe the latest Rock Opera is all of the Beatles songs put into a movie. How it was put together was wonderful. I really liked how it had ‘Jimmy Hendricks’ and people from the Beatles songs in the movie and how it intertwined.  We know Jude was really John’s son Julian, but in the movie he was Lucy’s (Lucy in the sky with diamonds) lover. Basically you have to watch the movie to understand and appreciate the movie. But I would recommend watching it for sure. So yeah, I loved it and I just wanted to write about how good it was.

The best four days of my life February 26, 2008

  So these past four days have been loaded with fun. Cardboard city, carnivals, and my latest personal record of running 4 miles. It has been busy and by far the best weekend I have had in a very long time. Just enjoying life and hanging with my friends, not a bad deal for a teenager as my self.

  Here is a question for my readers, why are we so self centered?! Think about it, we always here remarks from people like:

“I am fat, I want to get in shape. Because i only have one body I should take care it.”

“I am not pretty enough, so that is why I feel this plastic surgery will give me more self-confidence and show people who I really am. Since I only have one body and I should take better care of it.” (That is also going to be another blog but I want to keep on this topic for now)

“I am going to change my lifestyle to be more healthier. Since I only have this one body I should really take care of it. ”

So people say they only have this one body and they want to take care of it. Well, what about our planet?! We only have on of those, why don’t you start taking care of it also?

Do you know when you go shopping and receive you recent purchase in a plastic bag, those plastic bags kill lots of creatures that live in the ocean? Don’t believe me?

Sea turtles eat jellyfish, do you know what a plastic bag looks like in water? If you guessed jellyfish give yourself a high-five, you are correct. So sea turtles swim up to your plastic bag that held your bread and milk a month ago and eat it, since no animal can digest any form of plastic, that sea turtle dies.

 Also, sea turtles can live up to 50 years, they only lay eggs every eight years and they are an endangered animal. Oh yeah, majority of the baby turtles are killed by predators before they are even a year old. Well that is the circle of life, but when you walk the beach at night you will scare the sea turtles from coming a shore and laying their eggs.
Lights from you hotel room or lights from your million dollar condos confuse the baby sea turtles who think your nightstand looks like the moon to them so they start crawling towards the building and gets killed by your cars. Still don’t care about the sea turtles and only have turtle soup and steak on your mind?!

Okay, what about the pretty reefs and fish you look at when you snorkel on your beach vacation?! Oh yes, your crap kills that too. It take almost a hundred years for a coral reef to start over again.

So, by not recycling your children or grandchildren won’t get to see the splendor or this planet. What are you going to say to them? “Sorry, I trashed everyone home and made it one huge dumpster and now you can’t see it the way I did.” or you know your parents and grandparents talking about how quaint a town once looked like 20 years ago; don’t you wish you could have been there to see it? Well our kids and grandchildren are going to think the same.

 I wonder, are you one more person who wants to stop this stage of trashing our planet, and start making it a home for us, animals and more importantly the future?! I do. I am one step closer for our planet. Will you help out and be one more step closer?!

Go GREEN! February 18, 2008

 I wonder, people are “Going Green” but are they really?! Would they give up there disposable luxury up? I challenge my readers to think about this, are you REALLY Green?

  Would you rather throw away a paper plate then wash dishes? Would you rather throw away a paper towel or napkin rather then using a cloth one so you don’t have to wash it?  Would you rather throw a diaper away then use a cloth one and have to clean it? Would you rather ride your bike somewhere before you hope in your car?! That is just a few things, that we throw away more then once a day.

My biggest thing is air pollution, I do not believe in global warming, but I do believe we abuse our earth, demanding to much from it. If you are on a boat about four miles off the shore line you will see a dark cloud the cloud gets blacker by more populated areas. Don’t blame big factories for it, you help make that same cloud blacker by hoping in your car to drive down the street. We breath in this air, it isn’t all for our plants. Its for our own sake, I don’t want to breath that in all the time but we do. That is why when you are out camping and there are no cars for miles for some reason everything smells better, and the air is “crisper” it is because the air isn’t polluted.

Did you know it takes 500 years for one plastic bottle to decompose? Just think how many bottles you use when your out working in the yard, at a party, or just getting something to drink.

 So, if your reading my blog, I hope you enjoy it. If not, well then why are you even reading this?!

This weekend has been alot of fun I have really enjoyed it. I think it has been the laziest I have ever been, second of all I have discovered that Reeses Ice Cream is a wonderful midnight treat. It was soo good it is almost like a drug, I wanted more. But I really didn’t want to get fat or worse, get a tummy ache. Even though Mary and I were trying to sneak the fact that we were hording ice cream, since it was soo yummy. But we did create alot of entertainment for ourselves, then when we both started laughing we were afraid we would wake up Jax-Jax, Josh, Danny, Wolfie, Uncle John, Aunt Jane, or worse Copper (Mary’s Dog) but we were acting sooo silly that we put the kitchen light on and would not stop laughing. Lucky for us no one woke up. While we were well, stuffing our faces we were watching “Untold Stories of the ER” which was soooo amazing.

Sadly I couldn’t go to the lake. Which would have been soo much fun, since I love going to the lake. But, I am not going to miss being sore tomorrow.

Grandparents house February 17, 2008

   Hey everyone, I haven’t posted lately. Hope your Valentines day was lovely. Kelsey and I went to the mall and had coffee and went shopping!!!!! Oh, yeah we had tons of fun, the day after that my friends Mary, Taylor and I went shopping again at the mall but this time I had to contain myself since I was going shopping happy. I was on a roll, the stores loved me and specially my money. Pac Sun was having a great deal spend $50 and get $25 gift card back.

Right now I am sitting on my grandparents porch, listening to them talk. We are just visiting them for President’s Day weekend. Also, we are here to celebrate their birthdays.

I spent Friday thru Sunday at Mary’s, which is always fun. Mary’s dog Copper, is soooo cute and funny, he runs around trying to catch us while we run around the house. Talking about Copper, Mary’s dog makes me miss my dog Marabelle’. Who has to be left home since the place my grandparents live dogs are not allowed. I miss my Belly!

Tired Tuesdays February 14, 2008

 Today, was a normal day. I am just feeling tired, more then normal. I guess it just means a little more sleep tonight then usual.

Nothing is good on T.V. well, America’s Most Funniest Home Videos, but I wasn’t in the mood to watch that. My favorite T.V. show is TLC’s Jon and Kate plus 8. I mean how cute is that show, it just makes me feel all happy, warm and fuzzy inside. If you watch the show you will know what I am talking about.

Tonight was bible study at church with the girlies. I love our bible study leader, she is amazing.

I thought I lost this blog but I guess I didn’t. Which makes me happy.

 So my Internet went out last night and I wasn’t able to post a blog. I was in the middle of writing something but yeah, I lost it.

Tomorrow is Valentines Day. I am sooo not excited for it. It is just a hallmark holiday that has been blown out of proportion. All it should be is a good excuse for getting chocolate and flowers from the person you love. Thats all, and some day to get all mussy gushy with each other.

For some reason I find myself watching Mulan. Its not like my favorite movie but, it is cute. I can remember when Mulan was out in the movie theaters. The songs in the movie are adorable, poor Mulan.

Tomarrow I am going to Starbucks and the mall with Kelsey, since we are Valentineless. Go have a cup of coffee and go shopping now that is a good Valentines Day and also it is with my friend soo it is going to be fun.  Afterwards, we will go to Surge we will have the best V-day known to man.

Music Mondays February 12, 2008

  Today felt like a big sweater day. It wasn’t hot, but it wasn’t all that cold I liked it. I have been in the mood for a good girly movie, home alone, (Not the movie) time for myself, a big comfy pair of PJ’s, hot chocolate, and gummie worms. Basically one day to be completely alone to myself, and my dog Marabelle` of course.

Also maybe a good book, which I have to say I am in LOVE with Melody Carlson’s Samantha McGregor books, the third book that has just hit bookselves recently is “Playing With Fire”. Normally I could knock off a book like that in a few hours, but her books are soo good for some reason I read them at a slower pace to savor them like a good piece of chocolate. I recommend that series of book for shure if you want a good read.

For a few months I have been really enjoying Indie Music. It is something I listen to when I wake up, during my day, I can even run to it, and I fall fast asleep listening to it also. Now here is the thing, recently a Indie music princess has surfaced to mainstream music. You might have heard her music in the Old Navy commercial. I have personally met her, yes Ingrid Michaelson. She is such a sweetheart, of coarse before I saw her in concert I was listening to some of her songs for a few weeks, sooo when I met her I was completely star struck and could barely talk. Of coarse I got a picture with her but I was soo happy, nerveous, and completely struck in awe I was shaking which made me really embarressed. But I had a situation occur while at the concert, some people mistaken me for her sister, but we have never met before until then.

I don’t know, but I will let you see what people were talking about. You can make your own oppinions about the picture. You might not see, but I was shaking in my shoes at this moment. I love writing blogs with pictures that try to narrate my expressions! Sooo yeah, there are alot of Indie bands I am realizing are really good. For everyday listening. Well thats it for now.

 Remember, you can make a difference in the world. All it takes is one person, it can be as easy as recycleing, conserving energy, conserving water, and walking or riding your bike more.
